Jersey Mike’s Pledges Free Kids Meals to Students Amid School Closures

Jersey Mike’s franchise group, Prospect Capital Restaurants (PCR), wasted no time in providing aid to their local communities as COVID19 outbreak forces schools to close. The group operates twelve locations throughout central and north New Jersey.

Reports of COVID cases increased and changes throughout the State are being implemented. On March 16, Governor Murphy ordered all schools to close by Wednesday to help prevent the spread of the virus.

The shutdown will affect about 1.4 million public school students and more than 115,000 teachers, while closing more than 2,500 schools across the state.

For many students, meals provided by their school is the only reliable form of nutrition on a daily basis. As businesses begin to close their doors and restrictions surrounding operating hours increase, there is growing uncertainty about the future. Jersey Mike’s saw an opportunity to provide relief to families as they adjust to the changes they face daily. Participating locations are offering a free kids meal to students K-12 with no questions asked.

Monday through Friday from 11am to 2pm, Jersey Mike’s is offering free kids meals to students. Meals are being offered off good-faith, no ID is required. However, they kindly ask that you limit yourself to one per day, per person to ensure they can provide meals to as many students as possible.

Participating locations include: East Brunswick, Warren, Union, Rochelle Park, Spotswood, Edison, Emerson, Metuchen, Bayonne, Fort Lee, Hoboken and Paramus stores.
